Overview
Kathmandu University School of Management (KUSOM) is Nepal's leading business school, established in August 1993 as a premier management development institute under Kathmandu University (KU). Located at Balkumari, Lalitpur, KUSOM holds the distinction of being the first school to launch a graduate program at Kathmandu University and the first institution in Nepal to offer an MBA based on internationally-followed design principles and structure.
Thirty years on, KUSOM remains rated as the best business school in Nepal across all B-School Rankings and continues to set quality standards and innovative trends for management education in the country. Its graduates โ over 650 high-quality management professionals โ lead organizations across all sectors of Nepal's economy and beyond.
KUSOM has pioneered several landmark programs in Nepal, including the country's first Executive MBA, the first Post Graduate Diploma in Security Management in South Asia, and the first Master of Public Policy and Management. Admissions
KUSOM admissions are competitive and intake-based. Current 2026 admission windows are open for BBA/BBIS (closes July 10), MBA (closes July 14), and MPPM (closes July 15). All applications are submitted online at kusom.edu.np.
BBA (Hons/Emphasis) & BBIS
- Completed NEB +2 or equivalent from a recognized board
- Selection based on KU entrance examination and academic merit
- 120 seats for BBA; applications close July 10, 2026
MBA
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university
- Must pass KU's MBA entrance examination
- 80 seats; applications close July 14, 2026
- Fee: NPR 5,80,000
Executive MBA (EMBA)
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline with relevant work experience
- 40 seats; designed for working professionals and mid-career managers

Scholarships
KUSOM offers two scholarship programs primarily for MBA students, awarded on the basis of financial need and academic merit:
KUSOM Scholarship for MBA
One scholarship is available per group of 24 MBA students. It is awarded at the time of admission upon submission of a Financial Aid Form with supporting financial documents. The School's Admission and Examination Committee reviews the documents and conducts an interview before awarding the scholarship on a need basis. The award involves a full or partial waiver of tuition and other fees. Recipients must maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.3 in subsequent terms to retain the scholarship.
Juddha Bahadur Scholarship
This scholarship is funded from the interest earned on a fund donated by Mr. Juddha Bahadur Shrestha. One or more students receive a full or partial fee waiver each year depending on available funds. The selection process follows the same procedure as the KUSOM Scholarship.
