Overview
Shanker Dev Campus (SDC) is Tribhuvan University's most prestigious constituent campus for management education, located at Ram Shah Path, Putalisadak โ in the very heart of Kathmandu. Widely regarded as the pioneer institution of management education in Nepal, SDC has been synonymous with business studies for over seven decades.
The campus was originally founded in 1951 AD as Nepal National College, first housed temporarily at Durbar High School and then at Tri-Chandra College. In 1973 AD, it was formally merged into Tribhuvan University and renamed Shanker Dev Campus in honor of Professor Shanker Dev Pant, who, driven by missionary zeal, personally worked to acquire land and construct a permanent building for the institution.
Today, SDC runs programs across multiple shifts โ morning, day, and evening โ making quality management education accessible to a wide range of students including working professionals. Its graduates hold key positions in government offices, financial institutions, corporations, the private sector, and have reached the highest levels of political and administrative careers in Nepal.

Admissions
Shanker Dev Campus follows Tribhuvan University's admission guidelines. Programs are offered in morning, day, and evening shifts. CMAT (Central Management Aptitude Test, conducted by TU's Faculty of Management) is required for most bachelor's programs.
BBS (Bachelor of Business Studies)
- Minimum D+ in each subject of NEB +2 or equivalent
- No CMAT required โ admission is based on merit from +2 results
BBA / BBM / BITM
- Minimum Grade 'C' in all subjects of +2, or minimum second division marks in 10+2/PCL or equivalent in any discipline
- Must pass CMAT conducted by TU's Faculty of Management
BBA-Finance (BBA-FI)
- Minimum 2.41 CGPA with at least Grade 'C' in each subject, or 60% marks in +2 or equivalent
- Must pass CMAT
MBS (Master of Business Studies)
- Completed BBS or any bachelor's degree from TU or a TU-recognized university
- Must pass TU's CMAT for MBS entrance
MBM (Master of Business Management)
- Completed both a bachelor's and master's degree in any discipline from TU or a TU-recognized university
- Minimum second division marks at both levels
- Open to Nepali and non-Nepali nationals

Scholarship eligibility for BBA/BBM/BITM/BBA-FI: Applicants must be graduates of a government school at SEE level and must have passed CMAT. Additionally, the campus offers several named trust fund scholarships each year for BBS students who achieve the highest academic standing โ established by Nepali educators in their memory.
