South Asian Institute of Management (SAIM) is founded as an independent, autonomous academic institution established in 2005 AD. It is located at Old Baneshwor, Kathmandu. SAIM offers its academic programs affiliated with Pokhara University through SAIM College which is established to provide world-class management education and training to meet the demands and needs of the nations, regionally as well as globally.

It was established with the objective to provide need-based management education and engage in management development, research and consulting to facilitate the growth and development of managers, entrepreneurs and business leaders in Nepal and other South Asian nations, which is emerging as the most dynamic Asian regional economic center for global trade, investment and technology innovation.

With more than one-fifth of the world’s population and its fastest-growing middle class, the region has become a dominant force in recent years in the global economy. The expected exponential growth in the region will require managers and entrepreneurs who understand the region, its people, and their deep-rooted cultural values.

The 21st century is expected to be the Asian century with its re-genesis as the century of the global economy.
