The Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Law was introduced in 2010 by Tribhuvan University. The program is a blend of two courses: law and arts. The program covers subjects such as comparative law & Nepalese legal system, legal method, sociology & anthropology, political science, social work, constitutional law, economics, international relation & diplomacy, criminal law, clinical law, law of evidence, property law, law of contact, administrative law, environment law, family law, taxation law etc.

In addition to the classroom learning, the program provides students with the classroom discussion, field work, seminar, workshop and research.

Duration of Course

The Bachelor in Arts and Bachelor of Law is a five year long undergraduate program run in an annual system.

Graduates with this degree finds a job in both private and public institutions in the fields like commercial law, environmental law, property law, criminal law, industrial law and taxation law. Candidates seeking to enroll in the Bachelor in Arts and Bachelor in Law program should

Have completed 12 years of formal education

Should appear and pass the entrance test conducted by the university

The admission is granted on the basis of student’s academic achievements and score of entrance test.

Scholarship

The Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs collaborated with the UN Women and UNDP to provide scholarship to twenty deserving students in the year 2071. The scholarship will be awarded for the entire program of that batch. The scholarship is targeted towards women, indigenous group, differently able and dalit students. Students studying the B.A.LL.B program in Nepal Law Campus can apply for this scholarship. Other than this, Nepal Law campus does not provide any scholarship.

Kathmandu University School of Law provides scholarships to its law students on the merit basis. The university barely offer any need basis scholarship.
