Overview
Islington College is Nepal's premier institution for IT and Business education, located at Kamal Pokhari, Kathmandu. Established in 1996, it is the longest-running provider of UK university degrees in Nepal, delivering internationally recognized qualifications in direct partnership with London Metropolitan University (LondonMet). The college is approved by the Government of Nepal and accredited by Tribhuvan University.
Originally established as a franchisee of Singapore-listed Informatics Education Limited (IEL) โ winning awards for "Best Centre in Growth Performance" and "Best Centre in Academic Performance" โ the college rebranded as Islington College in 2011 to reflect its deepening partnership with UK institutions. Today, with over 1,600 students and 30+ academic staff, it has grown into one of the most trusted names in IT and Business higher education in Nepal.
Islington College's graduates have gone on to work at global companies including Microsoft and Google, and its alumni include data scientists, cybersecurity experts, and entrepreneurs leading organizations across Nepal and internationally.

Admissions
Islington College follows a structured four-step admission process: Counseling โ Application โ Acceptance/Rejection โ Registration. There is no competitive entrance exam โ admission is based on academic qualification review by both the college and London Metropolitan University.
Step 1 โ Counseling
Prospective students visit the college (with or without guardians) to meet professional student counselors and personal academic advisors. A campus tour is typically included to familiarize students with the learning environment.
Step 2 โ Application
Students complete both the college and university application forms in person. Required documents:
- Original copy of highest academic qualification (SEE, NEB +2, A-Level, CBSE, or equivalent)
- Original copy of citizenship certificate or passport
- A small application fee is payable at this stage
Documents are photocopied and verified against originals. Missing originals may result in application refusal.
Step 3 โ Acceptance / Rejection
Completed applications and documents are forwarded to London Metropolitan University for final approval. Results are communicated within 3โ5 working days by email or phone.
Step 4 โ Registration
Upon acceptance, students must complete registration within 5 working days. A formal student contract is signed and invoices for both college fees and university fees are issued.
General Eligibility
- Completed NEB +2 / A-Level or equivalent with minimum GPA as specified per program
- Science or computer studies background preferred for IT programs
- Business background preferred for BBA programs
- English proficiency required โ assessed via IELTS/TOEFL or internal evaluation
MSc IT & Applied Security
- Second lower-class Honours (2:2) or above in an IT-related degree from a recognized university; or
- IT-related degree from Tribhuvan, Kathmandu, or Pokhara University with minimum GPA 3.0
- Other qualifications considered on a case-by-case basis

Islington College offers two structured scholarship programs for its students:
AAA Scholarship (Attitude, Academics & Attendance)
The flagship undergraduate scholarship is awarded to 10% of total students from each intake, based on performance across three dimensions: academic results, class attendance, and professional attitude. In 2025, 261 students received AAA Scholarships โ making it one of the most active scholarship programs among private colleges in Nepal.
100% Master's Programme Scholarship
Two students per intake are awarded a full tuition scholarship for the MSc program. This is a highly competitive award for exceptional candidates.
