TU FoM Admission Requirements

For BBA, BBM, BIM, BPA, BHM, BTTM, BMS (Semester System)

Passed +2 (Higher Secondary) or PCL or equivalent from a recognised board
Minimum grade C in all subjects, or second division (45%) in aggregate
Any stream accepted – Science, Management, or Humanities
Must qualify the CMAT (Central Management Admission Test) conducted by TU FoM
CMAT score sheet submitted to the college of choice for merit-based admission

For BBS (Annual System)

Passed +2 or PCL or equivalent with minimum second division
No CMAT required – admission directly through individual colleges
Wide availability – over 600 colleges across Nepal offer BBS

For MBS (Postgraduate)

Any bachelor’s degree from TU or a recognised university
Must qualify CMAT – same test used for both bachelor and master admission

CMAT – Central Management Admission Test

CMAT is the gateway to all TU FoM semester-based programmes. It is conducted once or twice a year by the Faculty of Management Dean’s Office.

Total marks: 100
Duration: 90 minutes
Format: 100 objective (MCQ) questions
Sections (20 marks each): Verbal Ability, Quantitative Techniques, Logical Reasoning, General Knowledge, Business and Economics
Valid for: One admission cycle – students must re-appear if not admitted in that cycle
After the test: FoM issues a CMAT score sheet; students submit this to their chosen college for merit-based admission
No cutoff: There is no fixed passing score – admission depends on the merit rank at the specific college you apply to

BBA Scholarships at TU

TU FoM offers merit-based scholarships for BBA and other semester programmes through two channels:

CMAT merit scholarships: Top-ranked CMAT scorers are allocated scholarship seats at constituent campuses – covering partial or full tuition waiver
College-level scholarships: Many affiliated colleges offer their own scholarship seats (typically 5–10% of total seats) for high-merit students
UGC scholarships: University Grants Commission provides targeted scholarships for Dalit students, students with disabilities, conflict victims’ children, and economically disadvantaged students
