Overview

Kathmandu Don Bosco College (KDBC) is a premier management and IT institution located at Lazimpat, North of Hotel Radisson, Kathmandu. Founded in 1998 and affiliated with Purbanchal University, KDBC launched its undergraduate programs in 2000, added MBA in 2010, and Executive MBA in 2015. More recently, it introduced the BIT (Bachelor of Information Technology) program, expanding beyond its management focus.

KDBC lives by its motto: "To Create Future Leaders with Imagination, Inspiration, Illumination & Insight." The college is part of a strategic three-way academic partnership with Little Angels' College of Higher Studies (LACHS) and Xavier Academy College of Graduate Studies (XACGS) — offering students a unique cross-institutional educational experience.

KDBC works closely with the Federation of Business Houses of Nepal to provide firsthand business experience to students, and has built six active international university partnerships for academic exposure and degree pathways abroad.

Programs Offered — Purbanchal University

• BBA — Bachelor of Business Administration (144 seats) — 4 years in Nepal, or 2 years in Nepal + 2 years at a partner institution
• BIT — Bachelor of Information Technology (48 seats) — 4 years
• MBA — Master of Business Administration (33 seats) — 2 years in Nepal, or 1 year in Nepal + 1 year at a partner institution
• EMBA — Executive MBA (30 seats)

Admissions

KDBC accepts applications for all programs through a direct application process — no university entrance exam required. Admissions for BBA/BIT and MBA/EMBA for 2083 B.S. are open until September 16, 2026. Apply at kdbc.edu.np/apply-online.

BBA

• Completed High School / Grade 12 / A Level or equivalent
• Minimum 45% marks or CGPA 2.0 (minimum Grade C in all subjects)

BIT

• Completed +2 or equivalent in Science or any stream
• Minimum Grade C in all subjects or equivalent

MBA

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in any faculty/stream
• Minimum CGPA 2.0 or Second Division (45%)
• Must have completed 15 years of formal schooling (12 years schooling + 3 or 4 years bachelor's)
• Work experience preferred but not mandatory

EMBA

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in any faculty/stream
• Minimum CGPA 2.0 or 40% in aggregate
• Must have completed 15 years of formal schooling
• Work experience is compulsory

Required Documents (All Programs)

• Completed KDBC application form with a personal essay
• 2 passport-size photographs (color) and copy of citizenship
• Original and photocopy of migration certificate of Bachelor's Degree (for MBA/EMBA)
• 2 copies of academic transcripts of SLC, +2, and Bachelor's Degree
• 2 copies of examination admit card (if Bachelor's was completed from a foreign university)
• Work experience letter (for EMBA applicants)

Scholarships

KDBC offers both merit-based and need-based scholarships for BBA, BIT, and MBA students — available at the time of admission and throughout the program based on academic performance.

BBA / BIT Scholarships

• Need-Based Scholarship: For financially disadvantaged students; requires supporting financial documents; awarded after review by the scholarship committee
• Merit Scholarship: Awarded to academically outstanding students based on CGPA each semester. The scholarship at admission is valid only for the first semester; from the second semester onward, students qualify under the Performance-Based Scholarship scheme based on CGPA

MBA Scholarships

• Need-Based Scholarship: For students with financial difficulties; requires submission of financial documents for evaluation
• Merit Scholarship: Awarded each semester based on CGPA; admission scholarship valid for first semester only; subsequent semesters covered under the Performance-Based Scholarship scheme
