Overview
Kathmandu Model College (KMC) is a private institution of higher education located at Bagbazar, in the heart of Kathmandu. Established in 2000, KMC is affiliated with Tribhuvan University (TU) and is QAA Certified and accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Nepal โ with accreditation valid through March 2028.
KMC is part of the broader KMC Educational Network, which spans education from pre-school to master's level on the same Bagbazar campus. The college was awarded the Best Private College Award (2080 B.S.) by the Government of Nepal's Ministry of Education, Science and Technology on the occasion of National Education Day.
The college has built strong international linkages with universities across the USA, UK, South Korea, China, and India, and operates an active placement cell, incubation lab, and dedicated Department of Student Development.

Admissions
KMC accepts applications for bachelor's and master's programs through an open inquiry and entrance process. Admission inquiries for 2083 B.S. are open until September 16, 2026. For +2 programs (Science, Management, Law) offered through Kathmandu Model Secondary School (KMSS) on the same campus, apply at ktmmodelcollege.edu.np.
Bachelor's Programs (BBA, BBM, BCA, BBS, BA, BASW, BPSy)
- Completed NEB +2 or equivalent from a recognized board
- Selection is based on TU entrance examination results and internal college evaluation
- BBA: 66 seats available; BCA: 35 seats available
Master of Business Studies (MBS)
- Any bachelor's degree recognized by Tribhuvan University
- Must pass the CMAT exam conducted by TU
MA in English
- Bachelor's degree with English as a major subject from a TU-recognized institution
- Must pass the TU entrance examination for MA programs
+2 Programs (Science / Management / Law) โ KMSS
- Completed SEE or equivalent
- Must pass the college entrance exam (MCQ-based from Grade X syllabus)

Scholarships
Kathmandu Model College and its +2 wing (KMSS) offer merit-based scholarships and fee discounts to deserving students at the time of admission. Current scholarship information by stream:
- BBA: NPR 40,000 fee discount available
- BBM: NPR 75,000 fee discount available
- BCA: NPR 75,000 fee discount available
