Overview
The Melbourne International Undergraduate Scholarship is a merit-based partial tuition scholarship offered by the University of Melbourne โ Australia's top-ranked university โ to high-achieving international students from lower-income countries. It provides a 25% tuition fee remission for the full duration of an undergraduate degree.
Nepal qualifies. The scholarship is restricted to citizens of countries with a GDP per capita of US$10,000 or below (World Bank data) โ Nepal is well within this threshold. This makes it one of the more accessible Melbourne scholarships for Nepali students, as it specifically targets students from developing countries rather than competing on pure academic merit against students from wealthier nations.
110 scholarships are awarded annually across all eligible countries and courses. Awards are allocated on a competitive basis subject to quotas by course and region โ meaning competition is primarily within your region and chosen course, not against all global applicants.
No separate scholarship application is required. All eligible students who receive an unconditional offer of admission are automatically considered.
