Overview

The Adlerbert Study Scholarships are offered by Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden, funded by the Adlerbert Foreign Student Hospitality Foundation. Chalmers offers approximately 40 Master's programmes, all taught in English and leading to a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree. A small number of scholarships are awarded each year — typically four to five — making competition significant. However, Nepali students from strong universities with high GPAs are genuinely competitive, particularly for engineering and computer science programmes.

Eligibility

• Home university's global ranking is also considered as part of the selection criteria
• Proficient in English — equivalent to IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL iBT 90 (requirements vary by programme)

Final Year Bachelor's Students

Students who have not yet completed their Bachelor's degree but are registered in their final semester may apply. A certification from your current university confirming final semester enrolment must be submitted.

• Students already enrolled at Chalmers (prospective students only)
• Applicants to PhD or undergraduate programmes

How to Apply

The application has two separate parts — a programme application and a scholarship application. Both must be submitted by the same deadline.

1. Apply for a Master's programme — visit universityadmissions.se and apply to one or more Chalmers Master's programmes. The application window typically opens in mid-October and closes 15 January. Note your application number — you will need it for the scholarship application.
2. Request your scholarship application link — after submitting your programme application, go to the Chalmers scholarships page and open the online scholarship request form. Submit it to receive a personal link to the scholarship application form via email. This email can take up to a few days to arrive.
3. Complete the scholarship application — log in using your application number, select "Adlerbert Study Scholarships (100% tuition fee reduction)", and fill in your details including CGPA, maximum/minimum passing grade, and graduation date.
4. Upload your documents — submit the following before 1 February:
   • Certificates and diplomas from all previous university studies
   • Transcripts of completed courses and grades
   • Proof of English language proficiency (IELTS or TOEFL)
5. Await notification — scholarship decisions are communicated by email between March and mid-April. If offered, you must confirm acceptance before the stated deadline.

The scholarship deadline aligns with the programme application deadline (15 January), not the document upload deadline (1 February). Apply early — the scholarship application link can take a few days to arrive by email.
